A Monday I Like
I hope you’re all wearing green. Otherwise you might get pinched. Unless you’re into that kind of thing…
Second of all –
It’s the first official day of Spring Break!! I didn’t have to get up early! Poor Todd, though. He still has to go to work. I did wake up long enough to tell him goodbye.
Third of all –
Katie was up before the rest of us and made both plain and chocolate chip pancakes. She’s an awesome pancake maker, a skill she must have gotten from my mom because she sure didn’t get it from me.

Because I’m still fighting this crud I didn’t go to church yesterday morning. So I had church with Beth Moore. It was great.
Katie ditched youth group last night to stay home with me and we watched North and South. *sigh* Her squeal of delight when they both finally came to their senses was worth it.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you, Jenster!Sorry your still under the weather.=( I love North & South!
I’ve never seen North & South. Might have to check it out one of these days….hope you feel 100% soon!!!!
I *almost* watched N&S yesterday, but ran out of time 🙁 It’s been far too long since I’ve seen it. I miss John Thornton and Nicholas Higgins.
Thank you for your prayers..I have so much admiration and I don’t think there is an earthly term for what I feel for what you have gone through…I tell my patients I don’t know what they feel… even if I caught just a glimpse of it these past two weeks, I still don’t think I know…So Does God just take over? And give you this incredible peace, calm and strength that is Supernatural?DO you know when I realized my scan was normal? When I started to panic… I was ok until just a short time before then.. and when that happened, I realized it would be normal… because I just think God has to intervene…does that make sense.. I don’t know.. you tell me…Blessings my friendConnie
Get over your crud soon, and that’s an order! So glad you were in your element w/North and the South. Nothing like a good story to make you feel better. Have a wonderful Spring Break.xxxooogretchen
I remember North and South. I had so much fun watching that mini-series.I used to always want a plantation house to live in.
Happy St. Patty’s to you. I just got my copy of North and South in the mail on Thursday. I’ve watched it twice already and I’m contemplating a third viewing. LOVE IT!I like this Katie of yours. Chocolate chip pancakes…yum!
Medicating with North & South is supposed to be good medicine. ;)Hope you’re feeling better soon!Whatever you do, don’t eat any chocolate pudding!
Ah Tanya, Tanya, Tanya – wrong mini-series. The North and South movie that Jenster is talking about is TOTALLY different from the one you’re thinking of. So many people on this side of the ocean make the same mistake. This North and South made by the BBC, takes place in England and is at heart, a love story between a mill owner from the industrial North of England and the daughter of a vicar from the rural South of England. When her father decides to leave the Church, he takes his family to the Northern city of Milton. Margaret Hale, our heroine, is at first very disdainful of the people and intensely dislikes John Thornton, the mill owner. She thinks he’s to brutish to his workers. But she slowly begins to see that at heart he cares very much and is man with a man who cares very much for the people who work for him – at his own personal cost. It’s based on a book written hundreds of years ago by Elizabeth Gaskell and has been compared to a darker Pride and Prejudice. There is very much more to the story but it would take up way too much of Jenster’s blog to list everything. And Jenster *grin* what did YOU think of it? Did you enjoy it as much as your niece?
Oops -Jenster, pardon me for kind of taking over – butSQUEALLLL – Shauna – you’ve seen it too now! And you love it too. Squeeaalll. Isn’t it Grand!! That final scene – the one where Jensters niece squealed – is indeed squeal-worthy isn’t it?
apparently I need to be acquiring North and South – while NOT acquiring the crud! Kick that stuff out man!
Happy St. Paddy’s Day!Are you feeling better than yesterday? Hope so! The day before I left NM I made pecan waffles in the Belgian waffle maker, and they were so good! Now my mouth is watering!! LOL!!
Enjoy your spring break, Jen! Don’t you love it when everyone is home? I can’t wait for summer! Our spring break is next week….looking forward to it! Katie
Enjoy your spring break!!!!
Our spring break is next week and I am really looking forward to it! This week has been very busy and I am tired…it will be nice to have a week “off” with my kids home.
I am SO with you on all of those things. We are also in Spring Break and loving it!!!!!I LOVED the American North and South, back around 85 (?? something like that). It was so good!!Have a GREAT week!!!
Hope you are feeling better. Sounds like you had a nice mother-daughter night.
Oh, I hope you feel better soon!! I hate that sinus congestion, I get it all the time. It gives me the worse headaches! But to have the other yucky stuff on top of it, I just feel for you. Not a great way to spend a break. So glad you got to spend some sweet time with Katie. Your such a great mom.Hope the rest of your week goes better. Take care of yourself and drink lots of liquids!!XOXOX
Belated Happy St Patrick’s day!Can you send your daughter up here to make some of those yummy pancakes…or cyber tube them??? ;)My son’s don’t make breakfast, although years ago…I did wake up one morning to this wonderful smell in the kitchen and older son’s friend Joe was standing at the counter cooking donuts with our donut maker. :)He practically lived at our house and so knew where I kept the machine and got up before anyone and started making donuts. He warmed my heart with that one although I got the clean up. :)I am sorry your not feeling well and hope you are bright eyed and bushy tailed in no time. :)I finally finished my APB story. Ugh! it was just hanging over me and depressing me because it made me think about things I just don’t anymore. I certainly never wrote about it and put things in order. And there is much I left out.I also am not sure if I said too many personal things. I know it’s my blog but I wonder if I put myself in a bad light because of how I behaved even though it is understandable? And also because i talked about my mother…did I betray her. I feel guilt about that and also I hope I didn’t sound like a crybaby because there are worse things.Who’d would of thought that your post would have brought so much out of me? Also, when I read about how your family took care of you after that event, I felt the old feelings of wondering what it would be like to have a father that actually cared and a normal family life with your parents.Anyway, I was just going to tell how they thought I ran away and all this other stuff came out. It’s long and so I doubt most people look at that stuff but thank you for being supportive. And really I don’t usually think of this stuff unless i am with my mother, especially in her apt. She’s 84. i have never discussed any of this with her, never told her how much it all hurt. I have apologized briefly for my behavior but never held her to task. I wouldn’t want to hurt her but we have never again gotten back what was lost between us before all the bad stuff happened. communication is so key to having a good relationship but I just got estranged from her. I am going to write about it in my other blog because as you can see I still have issues and I want so much to get closer to her and be a better daughter. You can delete this if you wish as I know it is long. I really just wanted you to know you inspired me and so we never know how we are going to make a difference to someone passing by reading our posts. I hope in some way, maybe a parent/guardian that may read my posts realizes how important it is to be there and love your kids and parent them and to remember to have fun along the way.Funny posts are coming!
Belated Happy Paddys day!!
