A Passing Blurb

Oy! I have so many things to blog about, not the least of which is a visit with our very good friends from Missouri. But it will have to wait a little bit longer.

Before I go on to my riviting post I have to say a thank you to all of you who left me such nice, encouraging comments on my last post.

I’m rejoining the YMCA tomorrow so I can start swimming again. Swimming without the fear of certain fake parts floating to places they shouldn’t be.

Last week we were lucky if our highs made it into the 30’s. Now they’re telling us it’s going to get up into the 50’s, even 60’s for a few days this week. People are all excited about the warmer temperatures and some of them (like my son) are even wearing shorts.

I’m so tired of hot flashes. Tired, I tell you. The other night I was working in the kitchen and I took off my sweatshirt. Then I put it back on. Then I took it off. Then back on. This went on and on all evening. Right now I’m sitting in a freezing house and I want to turn up the heater, but I know if I just hang out here for a few minutes I’ll be sweltering in no time at all. How long do these things last??

Desperate Housewives is on tonight. So nobody call the house at 9:00 Eastern Standard Time because I won’t answer.

Wednesday I have a follow up appointment with the plastic surgeon to check on the revisions he did back in December. My opinion of the revisions? Meh. Things still look funky to me, but whatever.

Speaking of whatever, I leave you with this YouTube video in honor of our Missouri friends:

I envy you the warmer temps. It’s warmed up a bit here as well, though not enough for shorts. Enjoy your Desperate Housewives.

I want snow-serious snow-just once this season . . .I am jealous of you going to the Y-we don’t have one that is nearby, and I heard a rumor that they might be changing the local Sports Authority to a LA Fitness, at which point I would leave Gold’s and go to where they have a pool-I would live in a pool if I could. I LOVE the water!!

Hugs Jenster! You’re doing GREAT! and just so you know, three years ago, almost four now, I had a hysterectomy with one of my tubes and ovaries being removed as well… so I’ve got one ovary right? Should be all good? Um, no. Ever since I had the hysterectomy I’ve gone through hot flashes but none of them nearly as bad as they have been in the last six months. OMG, when you said the sweatshirt on, off, on, off thing I was nodding and saying yep, yep, yep. If I have to go through this for the next 10-15 years, I’m going to go insane. Seriously. I HATE being hot. Hate it, hate it, hate it.Anywho, I’m glad you seem in good spirits and are going back to the Y. I really need to get back to exercising and stuff as well. I had already planned on eating healthier starting tomorrow, but I think exercise is a must. I think maybe I’ll start going to the open gym and open swims at the high schools. Hmmm. Hugs!

Oh and PS, I want more snow, not the warm temps we’re going to be getting here in the next few days too. It’s too early and I just KNOW there will be repercussions. 😀

I can so relate with the hot and cold thing…it drives me nuts! Whatever… 🙂

I’m getting snow here on the mountain this morning. I’d hoped it would be later on because I wanted to go into town, but whatever! As for the hot flashes … mine aren’t too bad anymore. When I get them, they are very short lived. Does this ever go away???

Okay, that video is hilarious. I’m obviously not in the loop of things.I used to swim lengths but I think I broke my movement gene and now I’m sedentary. Or something spelled like that.CindyS

Too bad you don’t have snow. My grandma had a hysterectomy at like 38 and my mom had one at 34, so I know all about what it’s like to be raised by 2 ladies when they run out of premarin. Back to my point: when I was 12 or 13 I dared my grandma to go and make an angel because she was having a hot flash. Well…red caftan and all, all 5’1″ of her went out and made an angel in our CO pwdr. She was fine for the rest of the evening.Seriously, I wake up with night sweats, so I can’t feel your pain exactly because I’m no Bill Clinton, but I can send a sympathetic cyber hug (which I’m doing). xxxooogretchen

The video? I don’t get it. I know I’m unhip and not from MO, but can you help me out. Feeling very loserish in Seattle…

I want snow! I don’t want California winter temperatures. Been there, done that! And I want spring temps when it’s, oh, I don’t know. SPRING!I didn’t join the YMCA today because I’m sick. Blasted sickness! Probably won’t be joining tomorrow, either. Evenutally, though! I only have 7 months or so to be comfortable with myself before we go to Hawaii!!And Gretchen – there’s nothing to get. It’s a silly video that is funny in its ridiculousness. That’s all. :o)

Well, good luck with your hot flashes, and I’m gonna go to Target and get me a sense of humor. 🙂 xxxooo

It was warm here last weekend and it only made me mad because we were trying to sled and it was too hot and the snow was melting. Of all the weekends for it to warm up!Hot flashes sound annoying! I only had a few right after my hysterectomy. I still have one ovary and apparently it started working again because so far I have been ok.
