All Together Again
I arrived just in time to witness three kids being baptized in the pool, one of which is a Little Homie of mine. Thankfully another one of my Little Homies had the good sense to defy the rules and take her cell phone so the dunkee could call her parents. Since they’d come to watch I only had four girls to drive home instead of five.
Now, I know first hand how, um, uh, well, how should I say… annoying middle school girls can be. But I also know first hand how much fun they can be. They had me giggling the entire way home.
I dropped the other three girls off at their houses and then brought Katie home. Todd was on his way to our humble abode after working the tech booth at a funeral and for about five minutes we were all in the same dwelling at the same time. Then Todd and I ran to Lowes where we picked up a patio table with four swivel chairs for eighty bucks!!! So not the set I want, but how could we go wrong? It will eventually be our back up when there’s too many people for one set. But I digress.
After running some errands we came home to relax in the living room with both the kids and the dog. I promise you Sookie was the most content she’s been all week. Then again so was I. Yes, it was only a week, but I missed Katie so much I could hardly keep from speeding on may way down this morning. Oh wait. I didn’t keep from speeding. But whatever.
Anyway, it’s just nice to be all together again. It makes me happy!
Sounds like you had a great time. I know what you mean about middle school girls. I work with those lovelies and they’ve become my favorite age group to work with.
Yeah for togetherness. I am glad that you are all back home. There is no place like home, I say!!(oh, and it it just me, but your word verifications for me keep getting longer and longer–I am beginning to feel like your blog is purposely trying to weed me out . . .)
Oh I love to hear about moments like this, when you’re with the people you care about most and are just having a great time doing the most ordinary things 🙂

“Together” has to be one of the coolest words in the language. Regardless of who or what you are together with, it is good. 🙂

GG and I are home alone again today. I remember those moments when I was folding a load of laundry just wanting more time to myself. Who’m I kidding I still have those. Anyway, it’s odd to be alone in the house so much when we are used to it being filled with our boys and their friends. I talk to Beanie everyday. Swear, every day. I’m lucky he loves his mother, but not sleeping at home any more? Well, the house is too quiet. My heart is grateful that I stayed home and spent so much time with my boys. It serves me now. Still, I’m happiest when we are all together even with the girlfriends. It feels right and it feels complete.

Awww, sounds like mommy missed her baby girl!And I SO agree that there isn’t too much in life I enjoy better than happy, family togetherness.

I have that same feeling a lot. The “everyone is finally together again” feeling. It just feels so settled and perfect when everyone who is supposed to live here is home. My daughter doesn’t understand when I say I miss her when she is always at friends houses or too busy to just be with me. They really do grow up too fast!
