Award Time

Back in September Slackermommy bestowed this little lovely on me.

Just like tons of other breast cancer patients or survivors who are told they’re brave, I don’t think of myself in that way. I did what I had to do plain and simple. However, after my recent posts on God and Sex, I’ve decided I AM courageous. So I gratefully accept the award. Thank you, Slackermommy.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month I pass on the award to these amazing ladies and fellow sisters in the BC Sorority:

Sherry at Sage and Thyme

Jill at Reconstruct This…

KT at Gotta Keep on Keepin’ On…

(((((((((((Jen)))))))))))You are a woman of courage…you speak up about what you feel, think and live. You get up every morning and face the day.I know exactly what you mean about doing what had to be done…but I think we found strength we didn’t know we had; courage we didn’t know we possessed and spirits that could not be broken.I’m honoured to be given this award from someone I call “sister”.xoxoxoxox

Jenster, thank you so much for this award. After reading your blog these last few weeks, I understand why you received it yourself. I’m so pleased that you consider me worthy, and I can’t wait to blog all about it! Like you said, I don’t feel overly courageous. I do what I do (just like you, and Sherry, and Jill, and others) because that’s what I have to do to keep moving on. “Whatever it takes” is what my husband kept saying to me through treatment. Your BC sister,Katie

Dang. I’m just plain honored! Thank you, Jen! I am just loving this warm, gracious community of women. The writing is stellar and the support is heartfelt. And about the courage…I think that your surviving breast cancer was courageous. It’s true that most of it was not an option, but women like you, KT, Sherry and my friend Hedgie decided at some point to put your hearts and your opinions out there on the line by writing about your breast cancer experiences, feelings and opinions. And that’s a risky thing to do! It’s also a healing thing to do. I’m grateful for all you smart, strong, articulate and totally bodacious bc babes! Much love, Jill
