HAPPY FRIDAY!!
I love Fridays. Truly love them. So much that if I weren’t married and I could marry a day, I’d marry Friday. If Friday would have me.
I got to hang out with my homies this morning and that alone makes for a great Friday. After that I met my friend, Beans, for coffee and had a great visit. This evening was supposed to be wine club night, but we’ve postponed it for a couple of weeks and tonight we’re just getting together for pizza.
So in the spirit of Becky and Dorky Dad, I leave you with this haiku
Friday is the best
The day full of fun with friends
Tomorrow I’ll sleep
Yah for Fridays!! I can sleep in tomorrow and enjoy a day OUTSIDE and not behind a desk with piles of paperwork! woohoo! Can I marry Friday too? maybe in Utah.
*toast glasses clinking together* “Hear, Hear!” (Or is that “Here, Here”?)Great haiku, lol!
A great time was had by all in the Starbucks. Thanks for the chat!! You’re a keeper!

There is just something so special about Friday. No other day of the week invokes the same feelings of exhilaration and anticipation. I think it’s because Friday marks another week I have successfully managed to keep my children, fed, clothed and ALIVE! YEAH FRIDAY!!Oh, and my hubby stayed home from work today. Makes for a VERY nice, relaxing, long weekend. I caught a nap (which I needed ’cause I stayed up WAAAAY too late reading) and he stayed with the other boys while I took Connor to his eye appointment. Translation: I didn’t have to pack up three kids in the TOO:EARLY AM, spend an hour chasing two of them around the optometrist’s office filled with shelves and shelves of shiny objects (frames) while trying not to yell (too much or too loud). And all on 1 cup of coffee. ;-)I’m gonna sleep in tomorrow, too. Here’s my attempt at poetry.Jen spoke for FridayI’ll take its younger brotherSaturday is mineHave a great weekend! And yeah, I ain’t no poet.
I love Sundays and Mondays. I never care if I work on Friday but when I am off on Monday…i feel like I am getting away with something because so many people go back to work then. and for some reason going to work on Tuesday never feels as hard as it does on Monday.I love Sundays because that feels like such a family day. I like to make nice dinners on a Sunday. Church is Sunday-need to go more. My husband has always worked on Saturday and i have worked alternate weekends at the hospital and so Saturdays aren’t a big deal to us.I love the “marry Friday” thing. 🙂 You will now be synomous in my mind with Fridays and you will be often thought about on Friday. And so I will sy a little prayer for you when you come to mind. :)We used to do that with a bible study prayer group mug exchange. Whoever bought us our mug…we praid for them when we used it. 🙂
Good thing you married Todd. It would be too wierd to be Mrs. Jenster Friday. I am sad I cannot leave you with a haiku. I am haiku challenged. *hangs head in shame*
I have no haiku… can I interest you in a limerick instead?kidding. i love Fridays, too… but Wednesdays are the BEST!
Hi Jen, I like Fridays too, but if I had to pick a day to marry, it would be Thursday. I love the feeling I have all day Thursday, that Friday and the weekend is just around the corner. Guess I kind of like that suspense, like the day before your birthday when you know you’ll be getting cake and presents! Now, tell me about your wine club. That sounds like my cup of tea….I mean, my glass of shiraz!Katie
Deb – I suppose since I’m already married you can have Friday. *sigh*Becky – Thanks! Where’s your poem, Ms. Haiku??Beans – Right back atcha!Gretchen – Those were truly inspired. You have a gift.Shauna – O contrare. I believe you ARE a poet. A great one! I’m glad you had such a great Friday!Seaspray – Our Sundays are crazy. We seem to be gone nearly all day. :o( And I’ll take those prayers any time!S4J – I don’t need a haiku. How about a song???HisGirl – Why Wednesday?? And I’d love to hear a limerick!KT – you crack me up. Our wine club meets once a month and we have one specific wine for that month. We eat really yummy food and try different vintages and vineyards and decide which is the best. Quite fun!!
“I want a wine club! I want a wine club,” she whines.
Thanks for adding fun to the morning blog reading….and please pray for my mom as she begins her chemo on March 17th. I haven’t blogged about it; it’s still uncomfortable for her to talk about. She’s 65 and a 28-year survivor of ovarian cancer. Thanks.
I agree with KT that I’d marry Thursday, that way I can keep the anticipation and spark going, since I spend all day happy to see Friday and the weekend around the corner… wait! That doesn’t sound right! I’d be husband stealing if I was just using Thursday to get to Friday and Saturday… and if Deb married Saturday, he’d be my brother-in-law!Never mind. I’ll happily stay single… unless I can marry February 29th… then I’d only have to deal with him once every four years!hahaha.. great post Jenster!Catp.s. Every time someone says Haiku, I have the urge to tell you all, “God Bless You!” lol!
whoops! Deb just informed me that Shauna is marrying Saturday and she’s got Friday… so … my bad! Friday would be my brother-in-law!
