Lots of Rain = Movies

It’s been raining nonstop since about noon yesterday. Last night the winds got pretty fierce, but it seems they’ve calmed down some. As much as I lament the fact we didn’t get to go camping, I am enjoying the cooler weather. I’ve been ready for fall since the end of spring. And there’s no denying the wonderful fresh smell the rain brings.

Since we weren’t able to spend time in our RV we decided to watch the movie RV instead. Very suitable, don’t you think? I’m sure this movie is funny even to non-RVers. But this movie really struck a chord with this RVing family. Hilarious!

As of this very moment, Monday looks to be a nice day. Maybe this holiday weekend won’t be a total loss after all.

Glad to hear you’ve survived Big Bad Ernesto. LOL It was pretty much worthless here. I borrowed the LCH from the top of your review. I’m still reading Byzantium though. It may be another few days before I get to it.

We decided at the last minute to go camping over the weekend, and remnants of Hurricane John got us. It rained ALL weekend! I did get two books finished, so it wasn’t a complete waste. But, I’m not sure which is worse…. two bored kids that can’t go out, or one bored husband! Terri

Terri! I can’t believe you just said you finished two books, but you failed to say what they were. What’s wrong with you? This is me you’re talking to!I’m sure this is a stupid question, but have you seen RV?

No, we haven’t seen RV yet. Waiting for it to be in the rental store. I finished True Believer by Nicholas Sparks and The Measure of a Lady by Deeanne Gist. Enjoyed Sparks more than Gist. I didn’t really “like” her heroine. I have an old book about the same time period and setting that I enjoy much more – Calico Palace by Gwen Bristow. But, it was written probably in the 50’s and hard to find! Next book to read is the LC Higgs – Thorn in my Heart. I’ll see if our reading selections are similar! Terri

The heroine in “Measure of a Lady” definitely had some issues. But she figured them out. lolIf you read “Thorn in my Heart”, be prepared for two things. You will cry and you need to read the next two.Have you ever read “Redeemed” by Francine Rivers? Talk about a tearfest. But such a great book.We rented RV from Netflix. It should be rentable in the stores by now. I think I’m going to rent it for Mom & Dad when they come up. They should get a kick out of it.Jen
