Nekkid in Long Beach AGAIN!

Todd had his conference in Long Beach again last week. And guess what? He arrived with NO CLOTHES! Bwahahahahahaha!!! This was NOT my fault, however. (If it was my fault I wouldn’t be so openly gleeful.) He called me when he got to the hotel to tell me his luggage hadn’t made it with the plane. Trying to be encouraging, I reminded him at least he knew where he could get some new clothes. I’m sure it was only because he was tired from flying all day that he didn’t think the comment was funny.

His parents live about 20 miles or so from Long Beach so he spent the weekend with them. His father bought a really nice HD TV a while back, but he won’t pay the extra money for HD cable. Somewhere between $5.00 and $11.00 a month. LOL

I’m happy to say he’s on his way home from the Philadelphia airport as I type and am I ever glad. I think he’s a little hesitant, though. With all my alone time these past several days I’ve figured out what I want to do in the dining room. He should just be thrilled that I didn’t decide to start on it while he was gone like I usually do! And some of you know how my home improvement projects go from a simple paint job to pulling off paneling and tearing up linoleum. I don’t see much in the way of destruction where the dining room project is concerned, but I could be wrong.

I think you may be me with the whole impulsivity with projects. I once decided to paint several rooms in our house while my husband was out of town. He walked in and gasped because he had no idea I was going to do it. So far I haven’t done anything with much destruction, but it sounds fun eventually (maybe when my kids are all older and not quite so needy)

This sounds like you are going to take him on top of the dining room table! LOLToo bad about his clothing. Going to conferences naked always makes them more interesting.

Jennster, the better I know you, the less surprised I am that something like this would happen. ;-)Perceptive thinking there, em. I hadn’t thought of that. Come to think of it, my husband is on his way home from Phoenix. That table sure needs a good dusting…Oh, did I just say that? TMI…sorry, ladies. 😉

I love that his dad bought a nice HD TV but won’t pay for the HD cable! LOL.

I actually work much better when Bob is away then when he is around. I work at my own speed and think nothing of walking away from a project for an hour or two. If Bob’s home all I hear is ‘when are you going to finish? I can’t live like this!’ Yeah, so I wait and for a few years he wasn’t travelling. He just started having to go to Montreal for meetings so I think I may find some inspiration and Bob is always thrilled when he comes home and finds I did something new to the house. Means one less thing he has to do ;)CindyS

Radioactive Girl – I can attest that needy children and big projects DO NOT go together well. LOL But there’s something so fun about ripping stuff up. Really!!Em – I’m so glad my coffee hadn’t finished brewing before I read this because I’d probably have one wet and ruined lap top! LOL!!! But now that you mention it…Katybug – *wagging eyebrows*Swishy – His dad is such a hoot!! I could probably tell a silly story about him every day for a year and boost my readership to about a bajillion. Or 10. But anyway, he’s a great guy and a lot of fun.Cindy – I, too, prefer to do my projects when he’s not here. Then I can do it MY way. And if we’re doing it together he may not do it the way I want him to. LOL The problem I’ve had in the past, however, is that he ended up coming home to an unfinished, very messy project a few times. Good thing he loves me so much, is all I can say.

The only thing my FIL isn’t cheap about is TV. The man couldn’t live without it. Of course my MIL wanted to update her internet connection to DSL and he said “too expensive.” She should do it any way. He’d never know she pays the bills 🙂

Can I ask what airline lost his luggage? Then again, maybe I don’t want to know, huh? LOL And I’m with the others who suggested a whole other interpretation as to what to do in your dining room! Hugs,Jennifer

Jennster, I saw your comment on Dee’s website. You really should read Tamera Alexander’s books…they are FABULOUS, especially considering Rekindled is her first book. If you liked Redeeming Love, you’ll love those two books…and prob’ly #3 too…when it comes out in May.:-)Sooooooo…how is that dining room table today???

Poor Todd! Hope he came home properly clothed! That stinks when the airline looses your luggage. Hate that – but on the other hand, it was a great excuse to go shopping 🙂 Not sure if Tood, being a guy, would look at it like that though. My DH wouldn’t!My DH and I are currently beginning a massive add on to our house. It started out as a simple plan to convert the master bedroom into a family room! He is not real thrilled with the idea. It was all my doing, design, plan and all. It will be fabulous when it is finished, but in the meantime, Bill is not thrilled. 🙂

I don’t think there has EVER been a time where I’ve gone somewhere and not forgotten something important, like underwear..

Pendullum – Thanks for coming by. And yes, he ended up getting his luggage to the hotel and back home. :o)Tara – I don’t get why you’d spend the money on an HD TV, but not spend the money for the cable. LOLJennifer – I won’t tell you which airline, but they have an U. in the name and an S. in the name and the words Air and Ways. Can you figure it out?Katy – I know I need to read those books. There are SEVERAL books I need to read! LOLJen – Thankfully Todd received his luggage later in the evening because the shopping idea was not even remotely to his liking.A whole new addition? You go, Girl!Burg – Me too. I never panic, though, because there’s always a Walmart somewhere. And to all of you – the table is still standing!
