Playing Tourist

My folks flew in from Little Rock Wednesday evening. (And boy, are their arms tired. Ba-da-boom!) So we’ll be doing a lot of visiting and playing tourist for a while. I may not be blogging much, but I will be back with pictures!

Today we’re driving to Strasburg and taking a train through Amish Country. Tomorrow we’re all loading into the car and driving to Gettysburg. I’m not sure what next week will bring other than a trip to the Japanese restaurant and chocolate cake at home next Wednesday for Katie’s birthday.

So if you don’t see me around you’ll know why.

Ciao!

I laughed at your joke, yes I did (okay, so it’s 7:45 a.m. and I’m not really awake yet!!!)…have a wonderful visit with the parents. I love Strasburg (used to take the boys there when we’d go to Lancaster for hols…they loved the Choo Choo Barn!! I loved the country store on the main corner!) and Gettysburg. You’re bringing back some fond memories of family vacations. Enjoy every moment Jen!!

Have fun. I’ve always wanted to see Gettysburg because of my fascination with the Civil War.

YOU MUST STOP TREATING MOM AND DAD AS TOURISTS!!You’re making it hard on Shelli and me when they come to our homes. 🙂 Enjoy your time with them, and don’t wear them out too much.

Two places near and dear to my family’s heart–Strasburg (one of Junior’s favorite places in the whole world–granted his world is rather limited given he’s six) and Gettysburg (we’ve been there 3 times thanks to the Civil War Geek hubby).Happy B’Day Katie 🙂

I can’t believe I laughed at that old joke – but I did!Hope you have a great visit with your folks! We just loved visiting the Amish communities. I am always impressed with their dedication and skill. Great people – and they make fantastic meals. Have you had chicken & gravy over scratch-made waffles cooked with only old cast iron implements? They were having an ‘open’ Amish/Mennonite community dinner up there last time we visited, and thanks to my uncle we were invited.Wow! Was it good!Susan in Va
