September Reading

I completed the following books last month:

—-

Pretty sad for someone who has “avid reader” in her profile bio. The last time I didn’t read a book in an entire month was probably before I could read.

*sigh*

Well, I’ve read 10 books total in all of 2007 ~ 5 of them in September alone. I usually read at least (if not more) during a month! October will be better 🙂

Maybe you & I should say, “Avid book buyer”in our bios. 🙂 I think your life has been a little hectic lately. Maybe. *eye roll* Does Todd have any business trips coming up? That way you could hide in the hotel room and read, read, read?

Everyone goes in spurts! I will go a month without reading a book and then tear through a half dozen the next month. I’m sure you’ll make up for it 🙂

Ooooo, I like the avid book buyer thing, bought 4 yesterday and ordered another 20+/- but haven’t read anything in a week.

    It’s only a lull! ;o)

I’ve got a list of books I want to read this Fall. Hoping I can get to all of them!! I’m sure your reading will pick back up!!!

It makes you sad when you haven’t time for something you love. Daisy is right, it’s a lull. I have “me” day, no matter what else is going on, Friday is “me” day. I might not get the whole day but I block off a chunk of time and do what I love, try something new, just experience my life, my way. Maybe you can incorporate that into your world…just a little slice that is all for Jen. Start with a slim volume, something not too deep…it’s like picking up a rhythm. It will come back…I went months and months without reading before bc and now I’m right back in the saddle.

Uh, perhaps I’m being a “mom” here, but … uh, don’t you think your plate is pretty full?? Seems to me that you’re doing a thousand things these days! I’m and “avid” reader, too, but there are just so many hours in the day and so many days in the week. I find myself having trouble sitting down long enough to read a few pages because my head takes me elsewhere, doing things that “need” to be done. If ya can’t find time to sit for an uninterrupted half hour, how can you read??Just sayin’.

Oohh that’s harsh.I start getting withdrawl if I go too long without a book to read…Get yourself down to a library STAT!

Well, I’m with you, but I’ve started like 3 or 4! 🙂 Hang in there!

Hopefully it will be over soon.Cheryl – Cold weather is perfect for reading so maybe you’re right!Sherry – I do have “Me” time, but I haven’t been using it to read. I haven’t been using it to do anything worthwhile. lolLynilu – See my comment to Sherry above. :o)Trish – I have plenty to read. And I need to read them and whittle down the pile!Gretchen – I started two last month – didn’t finish either one. They were good, too.

I’m not worried at all. You obviously miss it so your reading will find its niche. It always does.

You’ll get back in the groove pretty soon! Girl, you did just start back to work, and your kids are back to school…you’re in what’s called an adjustment period. No worries. (Though it might be kind of hard to find time for reading in there with your weekend trips, and your 3 hour trips to Sonic and all ;0)Slow down a little, snuggle up in a chair with a good book and a hot cup of coffee and a fluffernutter, and read. Have you read Kristin Billerbeck’s new one? The Trophy Wives Club? Very good.

Have you thought about audiobooks? Life gets in the way sometimes, and I’ve found that I love to upload audiobooks onto my iPod. I listen to the books during my commute and while I do laundry, cook dinner, scrub toilets, etc.It makes the time go faster, and I get my ‘reading’ in too!But don’t sweat not reading a book last month. You’ve been busy with work, the kids, etc. 🙂

For some reason, this hasn’t really been a reading time for me either. Well…I keep starting, but nothing seems to hold my interest. When the time is right, we’ll both pick up our books and throw a hissy at any one that dares to request our attention while we are reading! I hope you get out of your slump soon…
