Six Word Memoir Meme

I was tagged by Seaspray, who was tagged by WhiteCoat Rants, to do this meme. I’ve seen this one around and I always find it interesting. But reducing an entire life into six words is no easy feat. So I’m doing a “last three years memoir”.

SURGERY

POISON

Here are the rules:

1. Write your own six word memoir.
2. Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you want.
3. Link to the person that tagged you in your post and to the original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere
4. Tag at least five more blogs with links.
5. Leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.

So I tag Becky, Shauna, Deb, Katybug, HisGirl and Sing 4 Joy

I don’t think I’ve ever used 6 words ONLY in my life… not even to order water! This will be a fun challenge. I’ll let you know when I’m able to rise to it!

  2. Becky on April 14, 2008 at 11:20 am

Wow…that was a PERFECT 6 word, 3 year memoir, Jenster!I’ll try and do this one soon!

  4. SeaSpray on April 14, 2008 at 12:10 pm

Jen…this is a powerful one! Isn’t it interesting how much more your 6 words said then my page of words? (not surprising)Wow. Thanks for playing. I am so glad you are on the other side of all that now. 🙂

  5. Shauna on April 14, 2008 at 1:10 pm

Love the pics! You’re right, your hair pic looks a lot like Becky over at Dee’s. What a way to sum up 3 years. Wow!

  6. Shauna on April 14, 2008 at 1:13 pm

Honestly, I think i would have a more difficult time with losing hair than with losing a boob or 2. Maybe not. But, I do know that a wig would just about kill me, so I would likely be au naturel as often as possible. You are incredible to share your story of pain, loss, and victory, Jenster. We are all the better for it.xxxooogretchen

  12. Jenster on April 14, 2008 at 6:10 pm

Gretchen – Strangely, the hair loss is usually more devastating than losing a breast. And I never did wear a wig. It was bandanas and ball caps for me, baby!

Jenster-tell me the truth…cucumber story too much (true story)or inappropriate? I am beginning to think yes. You wouldn’t always know I am a Christian by my blogging and maybe I cheapened my final post in that meme series. :(Just cause it’s true doesn’t mean I should’ve posted it. I don’t feel guilty about the speculum one though because that stuff with my med hx is as natural as breathing and I am used to the med blogosphere. But I never want to offend anyone and maybe some people avoid me because of Bajingo glitter and cucumbers.having a total guilt moment and ready to pull every possibly risque thing off my blog and put it in my private one.Maybe the fact that I have to ask is my answer? I mean i wouldn’t just tell my cucumber story at work or in other places and so it is ok to say to the world? I don’t ever swear or attack others but losing my perspective a bit.Anyway…I value your opinion.

    That’s a brilliant memoir…and you were beautiful as a baldy!!! 😉

  17. Jenster on April 14, 2008 at 9:38 pm

Seaspray – I wasn’t offended. It made me laugh because, well, I totally get it. lol And I’ve never been offended by anything you’ve written. At all!Radioactive Girl – Thanks!Sherry – You’re sweet!

  18. SeaSpray on April 15, 2008 at 8:14 am

Thank you. You do get my humor. :)Should I ever put it back somewhere else or do you think it is offensive to some? Go back and read someone’s comment to me and I respect this person and I think that is what he was referring to. My standard should be higher. It usually is.Not giving up Bajingoland and turquoise glitter though. ;)I also think having worked around medicine (cucumbers have nothing to do with that)for 20 years and because I am so programmed to get nekkid in the southern borders every time I see a white coat or blue scrubs…that I am desensitized when it comes to speculums and bajingo/urethra talk and my humor has been an excellent way to vent about it and release some of the tension. I left the speculum story because that is just medical but perhaps others get images that disturb them? Where as for me…you might as well ask me about the weather…same difference. uh-oh…I feel a funny post coming on about this. ;)OK…so I am a Christian work in p-r-o-g-r-e-s-s. 🙂

Great Meme! Mine is boring and… well, a little superficial compared to yours. heehee

  21. Katybug on April 15, 2008 at 10:10 pm

A meme for Me??? Me??? Cool. What’s a meme? I’m thinking long and hard on this one! It’s hard to narrow my life down to six words, even if I have lived a rather boring life. 😉 I’ll let you know what I come up with! Thanks for the tag!

Reading this…you just gave me an excellent idea!!
