STOP THE WORLD!!

So much to say, no time to say it! I have a bajillion blogworthy subjects – or maybe about four – and not enough time to write them down. I also am so far behind in my blog hopping.

I know I’m not nearly as busy as so many of you other bloggers are and yet you manage to visit all your blog friends and post consistently. What’s your secret? I need a new system. Can you help a blog-sister out??

BTW – Spell Check isn’t working. Anyone else having that problem? (And please forgive any spelling errors.)

I’m a speed reader. That always helps! LOL

Google Reader is a Godsend for blog hopping. I used Blog Lines before, but GR seems a bit faster. All your favorite posts in one spot and you can whiz through them. Really cuts down on going and loading each site. Also I get up early and do some checking before work. Eat my oatmeal, drink my coffee and blog hop. It’s quiet and I can get in about a half hour. After dinner and family time I write up posts. I will write posts ahead if I have ideas and save them as drafts. Then I tweak or update them when I’m ready to post. The routine varies from day to day and time constraints. You do fine. You have a great following. We all have lives and families to attend to and while I frequently lament a lack of time everyone is always so patient and kind.

hello!!!!I am doing bloglines, and finding it really really helpful. Sing4joy says she is having trouble with spell check too. I never have used it. I just right click inside my posting box and check the line “spell check this field” and it seems to work for me just fine as I type along. I even use it when I leave comments. Like I told Ms.Sing4Joy, it does work for spelling errors, but it does not cover for me when I am stupid. Like if I type socks instead of sorry. Or though instead of thought. That takes a much more powerful machine than I currently own. Like a time machine where I could go back to my high school typing class and actually learn how to type instead of flirting with boys.

I’m so glad you asked this question! I figured you had it all figured out! Not me. Of course, it might help if I wasn’t sleeping all morning every morning. Is it September yet…? 😉

I have way too much time on my hands and links to everyone in my toolbar. When I get bored (I make myself wait till 10am) I start clicking. If there is something new I read it or if there are a lot of comments I’ll go back and see what was said after I last wrote. I just today loaded everything into google reader, but I don’t yet know how much I will like it.oh yeah, I also read fast too.

Okay. Here is the secret: Do not clean the toilets, windows, dishes or carpets. Wash your hair only once a week. Order in whenever possible. Get on bloglines 16 times a day. Post ahead and save – which is what I should have done yesterday instead blogging EIGHT posts about my day. One side tip – take pity on the people around you ONCE-and-a-while and clean the toilets. My poor daughter was ill this morning and I couldn’t even let her wretch in the toilet it was so disgusting. Hmmm. How did it get that way? You would think they would notice and clean it themselves! Glad to see you’re thinking about us! And quit being so hard on yourself!

Oh yeah, I don’t use the blogger spell check. I have Firefox and spell check is build in. Anything I mistype or misspell, is automatically underlined in red. Comment boxes and all.

Sing4Joy – What if you do all that stuff and STILL don’t have time to surf?? LOL

  16. Kris on February 8, 2008 at 3:28 pm

I do not have a particular system to help you but I have seen some people who have a list of certain blogs they check daily and then others once a week.Don’t know if that help.PS. my results came back that the mass was benign. 🙂

  17. Jenster on February 8, 2008 at 4:33 pm

Yay Kris!!! I’m so happy!! Thanks for letting me know!

hmm…I have no idea what google reader and bloglines are, but my secret is schoolwork – the power of procrastination! 🙂 Plus, it always helps to stay up late and catch up on blogs!

I’m a speed reader, that really helps. So does Prednisone induced insomnia, and traveling a lot on jets that have wi-fi. I can’t sleep on planes so I tend to putter around.Plus I multi task like those people in the Sprint commercials with the tiny miniature versions of themselves running around doing everything.

Like Rosie, I swear by Google Reader. I at least read all my posts, even if I don’t comment everywhere. Of course, it doesn’t help me post, but at least I feel like I know if something important is going on!As for spell checker… have you read any of my comments lately?!?! I’ve completely given up proofing them before I hit submit.

  21. Lynilu on February 9, 2008 at 5:10 am

Jen, you can’t read all the blogs AND have a life!! Wha’sa matta ju???I’m irregular in reading, but I manage to get to everyone’s blog at least 2-3 times a week. I don’t always comment, so that cuts down. Don’t sweat it, regardless. If it becomes a “chore” you’ll not enjoy it. We love you whether you’re at our blogs every day or not. And it isn’t a contest nor do we have quotas. Relax, girlfriend!Yes, I’m having trouble with spell check, too. Pain in the toosh!

Question to those of you who use google reader . . .is there a way to see comments . . .or can you only see the post. i set up an account, but then i cannot read comments . . .

  23. Dee on February 10, 2008 at 6:18 pm

With Google Reader, you have to click on the post to see the comments.

  24. April on February 12, 2008 at 1:54 am

Jenster- You HAVE to get google reader or bloglines. It will save you tons of time. You subscribe to your favorite blogs and they come to you. It’s like getting mail from your mailbox ..it’s all in one place.
