Thankful – Day Two
I am thankful the elections are over. I’m thankful I don’t have to answer anymore automated phone calls. I’m thankful the stupid commercials with each party’s spin are finished. I feel very strongly that the politics practiced today are nothing remotely close to what our founding fathers had in mind. For that reason alone I’m thankful we can move on.
My cynicism aside, I am thankful I live in a country where I have a voice. Even if it’s to complain about politics. I can say whatever I want to and I won’t get arrested. That’s pretty cool. I can also go to the religious center of my choice and worship however I want (sans the human sacrifices, of course) and I won’t be locked up, tortured, or worse. That’s awesome.
As much as I loathe politics (and I do with an unprecidented passion), I am thankful our offices are filled by persons who were voted in by a majority of people and not just placed there by a select few.
