What I Read Last Year

2006 was the first year I started keeping a reading log. It’s fun to go back and see how many books I read and what I thought about each one, etc. It wasn’t one of my better years as far as reading goes. I only read 44 books for the entire year. I’m one of those people who would make a horrible, and I mean HORRIBLE, book critic because I pretty much enjoy everything I read. I started to make comments on all the books, but I figured that would make this post much too long, which it probably already is anyway. So – if you have any questions about any of the books I read, let me know. Otherwise just know that I liked all the books – some more than others – but still thought they were all worth my time.

I, too, make a horrible critic, there is not much I do not like. My hubby always disparages my horrible taste. How were the Philppa Gregory book? I have seen them all over, but have not read her yet.

I LOVE the one Philippa Gregory book I’ve read so far. I thought it was written well and quite a fascinating take on that subject. I have most of the other books in that series but I have yet to read them.

You know, I think I’m the same way, I find something that I like in each book that I read and I enjoy most of the books that I read, I’d make a horrible editor! haha.I really loved Where Dreams Begin by Lisa Kleypas, that was one of my favorite reads last year. Zach was the bomb! I really loved Dreaming of You too…love me some Derek Craven! How did you like On the Way to the Wedding by Julia Quinn? I hated that book.

Let’s see. I loved both the LK books you mentioned.I also liked On the Way to the Wedding, but I think because it closed out the series. It was my least favorite of them all.Told ya I’m easy to please. lol

So, what did you think of the Madeline Hunter–Lady of Sin?I think she’s finally finding her non-medieval niche.

LOL, Jen…it was my least favorite of the series as well, but not because it closed out the series. I wanted a better story for Gregory but it worked for a lot of people, so it’s all good in the hood! =)

Tara – I loved LOS. Once I began reading and the rest of the series started coming back to me I realized this was the relationship I’d been waiting for. From their first argument however many books back I knew they were destined to be together.I liked that Charlotte had been in love with her first husband and I was particularly happy that it was finally revealed he had been an honorable man and both Charlotte and Nathaniel had respect and admiration for what he had done.To me it was the perfect ending to the series. I have yet to read her newest, though it is on my shelf upstairs.Dylan – it wasn’t my least favorite because it closed out the series. IMO it was time to close out the series. lol It just didn’t seem to have the same spark or something the majority of the other books had. BUT, like I said, I still liked it. I’m looking forward to what JQ has next to offer.

Jen,If I could only read half the number of the books you read..I would be so delighted. I hope to make it more of a priority. Hope you are feeling more like yourself.
